NBG MARKETING FORUM SHARES BEST PRACTICE

9 August 2016

Sharing best marketing practice and the power of promotional gifts were on the agenda at the latest National Buying Group (NBG) Marketing Forum. Professionals from leading independent builders merchants from across the UK came together in July to learn to share best practice – a core value of NBG.

“Almost every builders merchant in Britain spends money on promotional gifts for its customers,” says NBG’s Nick Oates. “One of the aims of this forum was, with the use of proper research and expert guidance, to help our partners to spend that budget effectively. In addition we had a lively debate about the best promotions being run by merchants across the UK. Even the most experienced marketeer in the room took something away with them to implement in their own business.”

NBG is very much a single united community and the organisation aims to bring members together to share information and ideas with a cohort of their peers. This is part of NBG’s drive to improve standards and set benchmarks for independent merchanting, with NBG as the premier buying group in the sector.

Regular NBG Marketing Forums are open to marketing professionals in NBG merchant member companies, will cover topics such as merchandising, e-marketing, social media, promotions and loyalty schemes.
