Poores of Acton goes back a long way, back as far as 1820 to be precise.

Five generations of the Poore family have seen the business develop through a

succession of speciality trades into the popular source of all necessities for the home and garden it is today.

With such a wealth of knowledge and experience, it was inevitable that Poores would become a supplier of all things to do with building and decorating, earning itself the title of light-side builders and decorators merchant, supplying paint and materials to both the trade and DIY enthusiasts.   In 1987, Poores also moved into Chorleywood, taking over and developing an old established hardware stores in the town centre.. 

Poores prides itself on backing its stocks of decorating, ironmongery, plumbing, electrical, security and gardening materials with expert advice on every subject.  The store is a fully accredited Dulux Colour and Advice Centre and is also one of the area’s main stockists of garden furniture and barbecues.
