Independent builders merchant buying group NBG LLP has expanded with the addition of two new merchant members.

Adrian White Building Supplies Ltd, specialises in landscaping, but also sells traditional building materials too. There are four branches, two in Oxford, one in Henley on Thames and one in Swindon. All are based at garden centres and nursery sites.

"If you are specialising in landscaping then being next to a garden centre where retail customers are coming in to look at patios and paving is a good place to be," director Adrian White told buildersmerchantsjournal.net .

"We joined NBG because we realised that, as an independent merchant on our own, we would struggle to get the best deals from suppliers to allow us to compete fully. The group was recommended by manufacturers and merchants and the range of deals they have on offer was very much in line with what we do."

AWBS's brands include Stonemarket, Bradstone, Brett, StoneFlair and Lonstone.

Also new to NBG LLP is Cu Plas Supplies Ltd, with two branches in Liverpool and one on the Isle of Man.

NBG executive chairman Allan Durning told buildersmerchantsjournal.net that Cu Plas's membership would bring an new exciting phase to NBG's expansion into the lighter side of the industry. "We believe they will add significant value for us with their expertise and experience on the specialist lightside," he said.
