National Buying Group Suppliers worktogether to supercharge green initiatives

National Buying Group (NBG) Suppliers EV Future Solutions and Lakes Showering Spaces Ltd have collaborated on a pioneering green initiative.

Lakes Showering Spaces, based in Tewkesbury, is a leading manufacturer of shower enclosures within the UK. Keen to play their part in reducing carbon emissions, Lakes has made the momentous decision to electrify its fleet of delivery, sales, and engineer staff vehicles throughout the country.

To facilitate this environmental initiative, Lakes engaged fellow NBG Supplier EV Future Solutions, electric vehicle charger specialists based in Cheltenham, to design and implement a tailor-made solution.

Following a comprehensive, consultative site survey, the ambitious start-up installed 18 Easee EV chargers on individual concreted pads, which are mounted on custom made posts within the Lakes HQ’s main car park.

The project was conducted over several weeks, and EV Future Solutions Director Dai Jeremiah said: “It has been a real pleasure working closely with the Lakes team to design, develop and implement an innovative, eco-friendly solution.

“This will make a real difference in the fight to reduce carbon emissions within the transport industry. Bev Brown and Mick Evans have taken a strong position within the market by modelling environmental leadership in a complicated sector.

“We look forward to enjoying a long-standing future collaborative relationship with Lakes as we discuss energy and cost saving initiatives by harnessing solar power and battery storage solutions.”

The EV charging unit, manufactured by Easee Ltd, was carefully selected due to its flexibility, reliability, and durability. With dynamic load balancing, and free back-office software, the unit is packed with functionality, offering a very flexible, value-for-money future-proofing solution.

The completion of this project signals EV Future Solutions’ biggest commercial venture to date, rounding off a remarkably successful summer for the organisation.

This collaboration between EV Future Solutions and Lakes Showering Spaces demonstrates the commitment from NBG Suppliers to work together to build sustainable and efficient solutions for the future, all whilst growing and improving their own businesses.

NBG Executive board member Martyn Rees said: “One of NBG’s main aims is to Build Strong Brands that work collaboratively. This project displays commitment to this aspiration and demonstrates the results that our Suppliers can achieve through working together.

“We are proud to partner with Suppliers who display an active commitment to becoming greener, and Lakes Showring Spaces electrifying their entire vehicle fleet with the support EV Future Solutions is an excellent example of this. We look forward to seeing our Suppliers collaborate on more pioneering projects in the future.”

Other NBG Partners and Suppliers are also demonstrating their commitment to a greener future and will be bringing their initiatives to the fore in the near future.
