Rembrand Timber started life in 1982 when George Low opened a small timber merchants in the east end of Dundee. Business was brisk and the company relocated to new larger premises before opening another depot in the neighbouring town of Perth. Over the next 35 years Rembrand Timber has added another 19 sites to its portfolio bringing the number of branches in Scotland to 20 including Rembrand Doorsets, and today continues to improve its products and services.
George was supported by an experienced management team which includes members of his family, giving Rembrand Timber the qualities of a well managed family firm. Over 200 staff serve Rembrand Timbers customers everyday, and meet the challenges and opportunities that the business presents.
Additionally Rembrand Timber also operates 3 subsiduary companies:- Rembrand Builders Merchant (Dundee), Scotia Roofing (based in Forfar & Coatbridge) and GLOW Insulation & Site Supplies (Dundee), as well as a PVU Roofline & Windows Division - GEL Plastics. July 2018, Rembrand joined Thornbridge and NYTimber to create the leading independent timber distribution company in Scotland and the North of England, with the retirement of George Low.
